The announcement was made in response to the directives of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said about the national plan to absorb male and female Omani job seekers in the public and private sectors.
The ministry said in statement that the ministry of Awqaf and religious affairs had earlier announced 4,500 jobs. The ministry also published the dates for interviews for 588 craft and supportive services positions. The ministry of health has already announced 1,086 craft and supportive services jobs. Work is underway to fill these spots. Another group of specialised positions will be announced by the health and education ministries.
As per this announcement, there will be five vacancies for MA degree holders, 2,417 for bachelor’s degree holders, 1,575 for post-secondary diploma holders, 24 for vocational institute diploma holders, 407 for general education diploma holders and 592 for those who have lesser qualifications. The advertisement to be published for the vacancies includes 2 percent of the jobs for the disabled. The civil services ministry has urged job seekers to update their data with the Public Authority for Manpower Register and read the terms and conditions carefully before submitting applications or appointments would be cancelled if any of the terms are violated.
