Doha – NAMA Center, one of Qatar Foundation for Social Work’s (QFSW) affiliated centers with the mission to empower youth and expand their opportunities, inaugurated the Souq Nama 2017 exhibition, which runs till November 18 at Doha Festival City (DFC).
NAMA Center’s initiative comes in the context of overcoming the challenges Qatar is currently facing, and in line with the State’s orientation towards supporting national industries and products.
On this occasion, Maryam Bint Abdullatif Al Mannai, Acting Executive Manager of NAMA Center, said:“NAMA’s mission is centered on motivating youth with promising potential to excel in various fields and disciplines, as there are many opportunities for them to realise their ambitions and aspirations to develop themselves and their community. At NAMA Center, we place great emphasis on development of youth human capital by providing them with possible support, as they are considered the cornerstone of economic and social development and most effective contributor to the realisation of the Qatar National Vision 2030.”
There are over 34 stalls at the exhibition, where products like clothes, perfumes, abayas, cosmetics, gift items, home décor and several others are on display. Most of the products are made in Qatar – with a clear aim to promote local products.
Since 2013, NAMA Center has been working under the umbrella of Qatar QFSW. NAMA is a member of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), and the Arab Network for NGOs, and the World Family Organisation (WFO).
