Souq Hal Qatar expo exhibits Qatari products

tihaj Al Ahmadani, inaugurated the exhibition in the presence of Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Khaled bin Hamad Al Thani on behalf of Sheikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Thani, Sheikh Khalifa bin Khaled bin Al Thani, Vice Chairman of Hyatt Plaza Shopping Mall, and other dignitaries.

Speaking to the media after inaugurating the exhibition, Ahmedani said she was happy that the participants had come up with innovative products year after year and there are new ideas and better-quality products this year.  She said the participation stemmed from the Chamber’s interest in encouraging home-made businesses and entrepreneurs.  As many as 32 entrepreneurs – most of them women – are participating in the exhibition with a product range, that includes fashion accessories, perfumes, hand-made products, food items, several home decorative items, etc.

Asked about the higher participation by women in the exhibition, Ahmedani said, because the exhibition was one of home-made products, such participation by women was natural.  In reply to a question, she said, the exhibition will certainly have a positive impact on the lives of women displaying their products there. It will be a major source of support for them, she said.

She lauded Qatar Development Bank (QDB) for its contribution towards promoting Qatari products in the market. QDB is providing these Qatari home-based businesses entrepreneurial guidelines in addition to financial support and more importantly, extending support to the products to be sold in the market. Referring to the promotion of ‘Make-in-Qatar’ initiative, she said a number of similar events were being planned in the near future.

Sheikh Khalifa said, “We firmly believe that Souq Hal Qatar will provide Qatari productive families an opportunity to develop their businesses further and in the long run create great value for our country’s economy.”

The exhibition is being held in specially designed Qatari Souq at Gate No 02 of Hyatt Plaza Shopping Mall. It will run till December 8 and will be open from 9 am to 10 pm on weekdays, 9 am to 11 pm on Thursdays and 2 pm to 11 pm on Fridays.
