Doha – Leading pan-Asian restaurant chain wagamama opened its 12th restaurant in the region, in Muscat, Oman as part of its international expansion strategy. The brand now has a presence in Qatar, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Oman.
“The brand is proving very popular in Middle East markets,” said Brian Johnston, Managing Director of wagamama international. “Our focus on freshly prepared food, unique and authentic Asian flavours and relaxed atmosphere within the restaurants, appeals strongly to our Middle Eastern guests. While adapting somewhat to local needs, we have replicated the minimalist décor, theatrical open kitchen and quality, fresh Japanese and Asian-influenced dishes that have powered our expansion into 23 countries across the globe.
Wagamama Oman was developed by a franchise partner and Bin Mirza International LLC, a hospitality pioneer and largest operator of international hospitality brands in Oman. The country has a growing population and developing tourist industry, providing opportunities for wagamama to rapidly establish a demand for its modern Asian casual dining.
“Bin Mirza International is dedicated to transforming the food scene locally with international brands that offer unique and high-quality food to our customers. Wagamama embodies our vision as it offers Asian food in a friendly and vibrant setting. Cooked with passion, wagamama’s famed Japanese-inspired cuisine is founded on a positive eating philosophy: fresh food that’s cooked to order and served in atmospheric surroundings,” said Hani Mirza, Partner and Managing Director of Bin Mirza International.
Wagamama’s portfolio of Middle Eastern restaurants includes three restaurants in Saudi Arabia, four in United Arab Emirates with two more under construction opening early 2018, one in Bahrain and one further opening scheduled late 2018 and three in Qatar with one more in the final stages of preparation to open. The brand now has 183 restaurants worldwide.
