QP statement announces business as usual despite GCC developments

In response to recent unfortunate developments in the region, Qatar Petroleum (QP) and its subsidiaries have immediately mobilized all available resources and activated its business continuity plans, a company statement said.

QP said it wished to affirm it is conducting business as usual throughout all its upstream, midstream and downstream businesses and operations.

“We are closely assessing and monitoring all developments and are prepared to take the necessary decisions and measures, should the need arise, to ensure that we always honor our commitments and obligations to all customers and partners, locally, regionally and internationally,” the QP statement said.

Gratitude expressed

QP president and CEO Saad Sherida Al Kaabi took the opportunity to thank colleagues, the country’s energy sector and international partners and service providers for their efforts over the last few days.

He said: “On behalf of our operating ventures, I would like to express our gratitude to all our valued customers, in particular, our LNG customers and would like to assure them of our determined efforts to continue uninterrupted supplies.” Qatar is the world’s largest LNG producer and exporter, contributing to more than 30% of the global LNG trade and supplying all major LNG-consuming countries in the world.
